Still good! It's been a while since we were there. A least a year. I feel like you walk into a 70's era bar. It's got its own personality. You can eat in a barrel or a table. They still have a great beer selection. Family friendly. We've been eating there off and on for 20+ years. It's a Hickory staple!!
Absolutely delicious fries and bourbon, Angus beef burger. Very nice decor and would love this place to do well because it has some great ambience decor just needs a little maintenance and the food is great.
This place is neat! I really enjoyed sitting in the barrel lol .. we both had burgers - dad had the mushroom swiss, he said it was fantastic. i had the bayou burger and it was awesome! Spicy and sweet. The burgers are so flavorful. They have rootbeer! Hard to find places that do. Service was great. Atmosphere is super cool. Will be back and highly recommend this place!
The wings were very good, the beer was even better. We'll definitely be back! Oh, and the music track was classic rock! Excellent!
What a great brewery and restaurant. Great keg booths, very unique and cozy. Excellent menu with many selections. Try the turkey melt with the delicious pimento cheese. Yummy. Everyone enjoyed their lunch. We will be back.

Absolutley 10/10, house salad was delcious, waitress kept the drinks full, and the Wongs with Tiger Sauce are amazing!
The pulled pork is amazing, juicy, smoky, and slightly sweet. Plenty of food, great prices. Eating in the old barrels was interesting. They really need a sign near the road, you could drive past and miss it. I got in at 6, by the time I left around 7 there was a line out the door. Definitely worth a visit, will be back next time I'm in the area.
What a fun place! My love and I really enjoyed eating lunch in a barrel. The food was way better than expected and the service was top notch. I had a chicken sandwich with an upgrade of pepper cheese spread. She enjoyed a chicken salad sandwich. We also enjoyed a couple of Olde Hickory beers. The location is what I would call a sleeper. It's in an obscure area of Hickory.
I have been hearing about Amos Howards since I moved to Hickory, NC and decided to give it a try yesterday. I was not disappointed! Upon arrival the young hostess was very welcoming and once I told her it was my first time, she gave me a few suggestions as to what they are known for (burgers and wings) and that I should eat in a barrel. How cool was that! The waitress was awesome, very pleasant and provided great service. I enjoyed the grilled chicken sandwich with cheese and fries, along with a Ole Hickory Stick Stout. Everything was very tasty and made perfectly. To top it off their food is very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend and will also be back!
